Any fuel with ethanol will f**k ur engine. in the long run, why risk it.
stick with ya 98 ron, and keep modding...plenty of upgrades for n/a out there.

OK well seems like alot of people are generally guessing here and speculating . Troyman is spot on the money .
I Run race e85 in my ea - please note you can not buy this at the pump . I run all standard lines no problems at all There is going to be actual push by the end of the year to have a consistant e85 at the pump and that will be available but as i read in here that will not be a proper e85. That will only be up to E85 - There was a whole conversation about this on speedfm a few weeks ago with brett from Fuel control systems who is one of the leading guys with ethanol in Australia .

Quote: Any fuel with ethanol will f**k ur engine. in the long run, why risk it. stick with ya 98 ron, and keep modding...plenty of upgrades for n/a out there. thinking like that will leave you in the stone age. the myths have been busted ethanol does not screw up your engine if your running it correctly. it will be interesting to see what happens within two years to the ethanol market. im assuming that will be how long it will take for most new cars to be able to run it and most at least 50% of servos having the option to use it. if you can use a fuel sensor to read the RON rating of fuel and have the engine automaticly adjust, i don't see why technology wouldn't read to a sensor like this but for the ethanol content in the fuel, as it would be vital in fine tuning of a slightly unpredictable fuel source (assuming bowser fill up, not race shop brand)

yeah the major manufacturers are already equipping their new models with the 'flex' sensor.. yep agriculturally produced fuels are here to stay.. get used to em guys

Quote: yeah the major manufacturers are already equipping their new models with the 'flex' sensor.. yep agriculturally produced fuels are here to stay.. get used to em guys now they just need to drop the price down around the same as LPG, so that i have a real reason to convert . if the priced droped down to that level, stock compression or higher compression i would convert in a heart beat. after all conversion can be pretty cheap compared to good LPG setups

You will actually find that in the next two years cars will be only built to run e85 from the pump .
This is what is happening over in places like brazil already .
