What plugs are in the engine at the moment? Are they gapped correctly? Were the rubber boots of each coil treated with dielectric greast upon installation of the new spark plugs?

it does it if its hot or cold. and the plugs are the genuine ford irridium plugs. not meant to change the gap. there was no conductive paste put on them when installed. the coils still has a little on them. it has been sometime now since replaced.

Could be arcing caused by poor insulation of the connection between the coils and plugs. First step would be to apply dielectric grease generously on each of the coil boots.
