Hey, I just thought I'd make a thread to show the diff out of the NC Fairlane that I'm wrecking, it got run up the a*** pretty hard, and this is what happened to the diff. It's a 3.27 LSD, the chunk of metal that is missing is no where to be seen and is not inside the diff. I think it'll be fine with a new diff cover.

That LSD will probably go into Dad's Fairlane

That is where the Watts Link would have been attached.

A good whack side on against a wheel will create that sort of damage.

Cheers

yeah, i dare say that's what's happened, that's why I'm not hugely worried about the diff

This happened to me yesterday in my chicks 93 EB, wanker in a lancer on P's with a weeks driving experience overcooked his corner as i was waiting to turn left, hit my rear wheel and tapped me into the gutter.
45 bucks for new cover.

PS: Then the idiot took off the jerk! so rang the cops, they caught him an hour later and now he's lost his licence for hit and run.. good riddence to dcks that cant drive.

That damage could also have been caused by the Hayman Reese type towbars - a good smak in the rear should put the towbar brace into the back of the diff. But otherwise what they said - sideways hit will take out the pin
