Hey guys, I have a BA mkII XR6T with 60,000 kms on the clock. I have done a couple of mods i.e.exhaust, intake etc, got a custom tune and it pulled 337 rwhp, is this to much for the standard clutch to handle? I had 4 mates in the car the other day and I was giving it abit of **** when we pulled up all i could smell was clutch, i wasnt doin skids or riding the clutch?? its never happened b4 and the clutch feels fine now?? could it of been the xtra weight in the car or is it time for a heavier clutch?

I would say that is a possability.
The clutch in my EF slips if I give it a bit too much (usually 3rd) and this is a HD Exedy unit. Doesnt nessisarily mean its stuffed though.

if its loaded up and your giving it hell than you will smell it as your putting a bit of pressure on it trying to move extra weight and jamming more power through it, its getting hotter than normal which makes them slip, think of it as a fuse in the electrical system if you jam more power through it and the electrical componant is trying to pull more power than the fuse can handle than it will get hot/ blow out.a clutch is just a driveline fuse lol
