Hey guys just wondering if it was possible to add power steering to my 1979 Ford Cortina TE, if so could you please point me in the right direction?

Does it have the 6 cylinder motor? If so, an XE/XF Power steering pump will bolt to the motor, assuming there's no clearence issues, which I wouldnt imagine there would be. I'm not entirely familiar with the steering setup in a Cortina, do they use rack and pinion? if so, maybe you could adapt an E series rack to fit. If they have a steering box, look at XE/XF Falcons and look at adapting that. Eithier way some things will need to be adapted, but the XE/XF Power steering pump should bolt straight on. Gab |

some 6 cyl cortinas came with power steering, afaik not in 4 cyl.
but if you can find a 6 cyl cortina power steering rack then its just a matter of getting a pump to fit the 4 cyl and some lines... |

when i had my te 4 banger it had power steering fitted by the previous owner so i can be done somehow
