Far too many AU's with bodykits on here lately so thought this needed a bump.
Picked up a $50 engine the other week. Need more time to do anything with it but hopefully it will get some good bits pretty soon. Here is what AU utes should look like. |

Yeah I was selling it but to be honest I don't really want to.
I really like my ute but want to have a go at a turbo V8. Keeping both cars would be good but having 2 cars registered and insured is hard to justify when I get the train to work during the week. |

yeah no point in keeping both mate may aswell only have 1 weekend car otherwise you wont have enough time to enjoy both

or you will end up like me living in a car yard lol too fekin expensive to own multiple registered cars these days. Then it's too expensive to run an off street racer. Then if you get caught boosting your road rego'd wheels at 18pound low speed hard lock then you're in the shyt too
That's why I own a bush rig,a work ute and a long trip vehicle. Only problem is it's too hard to combine them all into one & costs too much for rego. I reckon you should only have to pay for plates and put them on what ever you're driving....

less chit chat about rego's and running costs, more PSI.

That's easy for you to say mr club rego. :p
Exams finish next week then I can finish putting the VX together and pull the motor out of the ute. Might go a better wrecker motor and build one on the side I think. |

The VX ? Have you still got that old thang? lol
Standby engines ftw. How many people can say they bolted in a reliable 20psi in a weekend ? You could with a few more big boy bits & what you already have

Hahahah, shame i can't club rego the other 4 good idea, drop another wrecker motor in so you can enjoy it whilst you build a decent one. if the project goes stale you might be tempted to sell :/

Yeah that's another risk that I've considered. One of the main reasons I don't want to sell is because I'll lose a lot of cash offloading stuff and I've already done that too much. Apart from that and the ute being handy I'm not real attached to it.
I was at wolf yesterday and one of his dealers is fitting a BA engine to an AU and attempting to get it running with the same setup I have. AU plug in v500 with extra wiring for the extra s**t. Before I do anything I want to see how that goes. We spoke about it last time I was in but I was hesitant to be a guinea pig. The v500 should be able to control the cams properly. If I'm going to do a strong rebuild the twin cam motor costs about the same in parts and it would be good to have a motor I can use in a newer car. It's still no turbo ls1 though. :p |
