hay guys just brought a ford falcon with recon ef engine old was eb xr6 and it idles around 4500 3000 rpm when i stop at the lights and i have to wire the radiator fan to the batt so it keeps the engine cool . can a empty steerinf fluid be the problem for the high idles or can it be something else and the thermo stays at cold

So basically from your thread you have a EB running a EF engine, ecu and thermo fan relays. Obviously they were not connected correctly. A search will fix your problems or just bite the bullet and get an after market kit to trigger the thermo's on...

oil in the water or water in the oil is a good way.

Incorrectly worded statements and questions get confused anwsers.

1) What is the car? You list that you have an EF but your question appears to state that it is an EB.

2) Engine itself means nothing as long as the correct auxilaries were fitted.

3) If it is an EB with EF engine, is it running dizzy or Coilpacks? Is it fitted with Log manifold or BBM? What ECU are you running?

Correct info and as much as possible leads to correct advice.

unplug the ics and see if it drops to where its ment to be, if not then turn the base idle down, theres a little idle screw on the throttle body near the accelorator cable, i think if you set it to about 700 rpm and plug the ics back in it should be fine as i had the same problem and this is how i fixed it
