Hey, Justing to ask a question. I listen to alot of metal/ rock + techno. I got my self a q-max sealed box QX12SS with a 12" pioneer sub TS305C + and coustics AMP600S. Im thinking about getting another box + sub exactly the same in series? Would there be any benefit. I want boom boom but tight at the same time? opinons Please?

I guess it depends on how much you've used that first one, but as long as the box / sub combination is that same, you shouldn't have any trouble. How are you going to wire it to the Amp? You mentioned series. You can't really just add that sub in in series. You might want to get another identical amp as well?

hrmmm, so i cant connect as such;

Positive from amp - positive first sub, negative first sub to postive second sub, negative second sub to negative amp?

what ur saying is that wouldnt work?

podez, yup, that will work, but the amp will see a 8 ohm load, which means less power produced, making the cost effectiveness of the 2nd sub doubtfull
to realise the full potential of the 2nd sub, i'd look at getting another amp

raabz, i think podes meant another sub of the same model as his existing one

Hope you got the car for a "we can't drive for s**t and we're giving it away" price!!!

Interceptor: If he made an 8ohm load (even if it was a monoblock - and i'm assuming it's actually a 2 channel) the TOTAL power could almost be halved? maybe not, but significantly less.... so I dare say LESS bass would be procuded than the single running 4ohms

The age old problem with 1 x 12" sub on a class a/b then wanting another.

You will get roughly half the power and then doubbel the cone area so net result will be about the same and twice as much room in your boot used.

Best bet would be run the 2 channel on the fronts and buy a monoblock.
If money is a problem then sell it and buy a monoblock.

Only other option is sell the sub and buy 2 x dual 2ohm voice coil subs
which you can wire for a 4ohm load.
