Russell.

You'll probably find that you wont need any dash wiring. The Trans ECU Wiring is part of the forward engine harness on the drivers side, and the ECU Wiring goes forward through the firewall on the passenger side.

The only really complicating signals are :
1. Speed sender (not sure if EF Wiring gets it to the dash at all - it normally uses the EF ECU Data Link)
2. Trans E/P Switch (its reversed on the EF/L from EB/D - but if your clever you can actually pull the switch out, and "switch it around" like they did on the XH utes.

How are your brake lines going with the k-frame changeover? - and I take it your using all EF front suspension bits?

For en EF, its a lot easier. You just need to change the harnesses forward of the dash, and they should just plug straight in. The EF V8 Harness should have cruise, and the Climate forward temp sensor in it

The 8 sounds awesome, but the 6 has much, much better economy.

Ive got the XR8 - and its got a beautiful note. So I'll keep it, but I nearly left the EB as a 6

It will be faster to use an EB-D V8 harness otherwise there's a lot of mucking around adapting the EF harness. The EF K-member is the way to go...superior engine mounts.

Mate - No ABS is a win!. That means you dont need it.

Dont even try and put it in. ABS on the EB was a bit second rate. If your a half-decent driver you should be able to out-break it anyway. ABS got a LOT better in the later models (EF and on)

In that case, putting the entire EF Harness into your car is a posibility.

You can put the entire EF Dash, harness etc in. Leave out the ABS Unit, and the AirBag Sensors (*3) and Airbag ECU. You'll have a great car!

Thanks Nigel for the info on the ABS on my EB seems like it might be easier to fit the EF harness and dash. do you know if i was to fit the EF steering column and steering wheel will the cruise control work ok ? Russell

Russell.

Im looking at what you are - complete rebodying of an ef.

If you take the whole dash, then you can take the steering wheel easily. Cruise control will work if you use the EF Pedals, Cruise Servo, and wiring as well as steering wheel.
