Or install a Malwood Clutch Pin, no removal required.

Is it the same procedure in the ef as in the ea to take the dash off? If so pretty easy mate, pain in the a** but if you don't want to shell out for the malwood pin then go for it! As far as doing the swap (auto to manual) it's relatively easy, make sure you have enough height! i dragged my auto out on its a**
The guides on here in the technical section will give you a really good idea on whats involved. |

Download the guide and read it carefully:
fordmods-technical-documents-diy-f38/auto-to-manual-conversion-guide-t42420.html Once finished reading...make sure you are confident in doing it yourself. Also a good assortment of good quality tools is preferred...you don't want to do the job half way through to find a ratchet/spanner/shifter is broken and can't continue on. In regards to pedal box replacement...it is a pain in the a***. You have to lower the steering column, remove the whole dashboard...either move it back a little so you can reach the 3 bolts, or remove the whole thing completely. This task will be harder if the weather is s**t, you have no large driveway, you're on your own and/or injured. Easiest solution, which is probably the more expensive solution would be Malwood pin.

A pin, a plate and a nut...that's about it. Much easier than 8-9 bolts, heaving a heavy dash off, lowering steering column, removing pedal box, then doing it all in reverse.

Sounds like that might be thE go. Does it just need a hole drilled in the pedal box n bolt the pin straight on?

So bolt straight on. Make sure you get the revised clutch pin that comes with a reinforcing plate if you plan on buying second hand. If you buy new, never mind, should have the plate with it.

just bought this pinkit myself, easy installation, the hole for the pin is already there, no drilling or cutting required and the hole for the clutch cable should be there too.
