Hey
I am just wondering how much xe falcon 351 sedans are going for in the eastern states,
they are pretty rare in wa so i thought someone on here can help.
I realise this is a vague question to ask,but i just got offered 9 k for it.
This is the run down on it-
1982 xe 351 sedan(came out the factory as a six)
351 cleveland 30 thou bore which are perfect by the way
high energy sump,weiand x-cellerator manifold,yella terra roller rockers,chrome moly retainers and push rods,gilmer belt drive,flex fan,crane electronic ignition,mallory distributor,eagle 9mm leads
3 core heavy duty radiator.rebuilt new generation holley 750 carby.
Custom ghia style interior,custom console,b & m quiksilver shifter,s pak dash.
Driveline-6 cylinder diff (borg warner) 3.89 ratio,2000 hi-stall with a huge transmission cooler.
Body-gun metal grey, straight but a bit of rust in the bottom of the front doors and bottom of rear window.
Ghia front bumper lip, shaker scoop, indy dragway wheels
The whole suspension got replaced too, everything besides the steering box with pedders suspension
The main downside is that its unregistered and hasnt been started in 12 years.
The dilemma i have is that i have owned it since i was 18 ,so i have had it for 17 years and has huge sentimental value. Its hard to let it go and xe 351s are rare as over in wa as i said before.
I am thinking it would be easy to get 9000k again in my life, but easy to get another xe 351 sedan again?i think not.
Any advice from my fellow ford fanatics on here thats been in this dilemma?
cheers fellas in advance :)

Hi Does not look like anyone else wants to have an opinion which is unusual. As you said you can always get 9 G's but another XE different matter. If you don't want the money to buy a house, no other reason is good enough to sell it. That's my opinion for what it's worth. But I tend to keep things now and regret getting rid of what I have had in the past. Your post strikes me as being similar to mine [Whats it worth XF V8 Panel Van] a cry for help or justification for telling them no it's not for sale. Good luck and go and kick it in the guts and get it going then you differently won't want to sell it.That's what I did and the answer to them is go build your own I am keeping mine.
All the best T.P.V.M.

Keep it mate. I sold a car I had for 13 years and I regret it every day.

Ill throw this in , ive deleted all the guff that it has
It hasnt been started for 12 years ???
All the best parts in the engine wont help , if after that long something broke on start up
I certainly wouldnt pay anywhere near that money for a factory 6 XE that i couldnt see or hear or even drive
IF it was a rare factory XE ESP yeah fair enuf, but not a 6
Dont take offence but a factory 6 , 351 fitted , not started for 12 years and offered 9K , id be chaining the bloke to the car till he paid
6 cylinder XEs are cheap and everywhere , converting to a 51 wouldnt cost that much
Its probably worth more than 9 K to you in sentimental value

Yeah, gotta say I think 1978 XC GS has hit the nail on the head with that one. Rarity doesn't come into it if the car was originally a 6 cylinder, so in my opinion the vehicle is only worth the sum value of it's components (or what someone will pay for them). I am no expert on the XD-XF series but $9000 sounds like factory 351 ESP money to me.**

*** You're right, an XE ESP 351 will bring 20k, there's a couple on AMCS around that. But I wasn't saying there only worth 9k, just that there's no other model in the XE range which would reach that figure unless it's based on other things like mod's etc.

good old xe falcons, didnt matter weather they had a v8 or a 6 under the hood they allways looked tuff, i still got mine it's just a efi ghia 6 with premium sound from back in the day 4-speed, lsd, 4-wheel discs, electric mirrors, electric antenna, power steering, cold ac, and yet it's still registed but has been sitting in the shed covered up for the last 3 years, might pull it out on the weekend and polish it up for a sunday cruise. id just keep yourse buddy, the last thing you want is to sell it and then see it a few months later hith a big hole in the bonnet and wanker stickers all over it. i had an older xe s-pak as a work car with a clapped out 302 but it made descent power and was a bloody tank to drive but when i sold it the guy just wrecked it, ill never forgive myself for it.
