I am going away for the Christmas break up to far north west queensland, and as like many others of you out there i want to make sure that my car is in top order before i get on the road...

just wanted to get people to suggest things, obvious or not... i have done a bit of an initial check, but i always miss a few things... so thought this would help out everyone, not just me...

cheers

I hate you, just because you're going to nth qld without me lol

I think it's more about being prepared on the road with spares etc then trying to make it perfect before you leave and expect it to last the whole trip. Hoses belts & tools to do the job etc. Change of coolant probably wouldn't hurt and remember you won't need anti-freeze up there, the glycol just impairs the coolants ability to transfer heat which is what you will need. I would suggest just a corrosion inhibitor. I don't even run antifreeze in southern nsw in my petrol cars.

Check and bleed the brakes would be my suggestion.
