when ever i plant the foot, at about 2800rpm the engine starts missfiring all the way to about 4000rpm. then when it gets past the missfire it starts to shudder all the way to red line.
Ive changed plugs and coil packs but it still does it. i need help, does anybody have any ideas what it could be? |

Nah i haven't washed the engine bay, i heard all different reasons that could cause the problem from, oxy sensors to ecu needs updating from ford

yer ive herd heaps too my uncle works for ford in brisbane, he scanned mums and it was full of codes after we had washed the engine down, 2 coils went, ecu had damage, o2 sensor, tps, turns out they really dnt like water too much but the only other thing i can think of may be the box itself being all electronically controlled and stuff mabe it's pulling up a limp mode or somthing, im not too sure with all the electrical mumbo jumbo if it was a carby fed wepon it'd be something simple.

alot of times when the coils start to go or one does go the car can run but once you drive it's a real pig to get goin wont change gears properly i dunno weather they fixed the probs when they built the mk2ba but mum mk1 was a pig for 3 weeks so we drove it like a racecar all the way to brizzy, what ever my uncle done to it which he said he played with the ecu a bit and we should find it's lighter on the juice and be more responsive aswell as the speed limiter gone, and we should be able to floor it and have the thing take off like a cat on speed, and it does tripped me up once in the wet went to overtake put the boot down and it stood out luckily there was nobody going the other way or i woulda been cleaned up

The car was running like a**. Ford replaced pretty much anything they could get their hands on at the time, had the car for 3 weeks and for $2000 didn't fix it. Took it to a mechanic and had the filter changed, wooolah, fixed rofl
