I couldn't find too much information about the XR6 diff on the interest other than it's a 3.45 ratio LSD. Does anyone know what type of diff it is? Is it a Hydro-trac like the EF or did they go to the Detroit locker?

afaik only certain model xh ute got the hydratrack, this is a clutch type lsd similar to a kaaz type lsd..
none got a detroit locker... otherwise all the factory ford lsd's are a cone in hemisphere based lsd.. if anyone remembers really old school push bikes with back pedal brakes(where you go to pedal backwards to brake) this is a similar design to the lsd centres used. |

Pretty sure its a Borg-Warner, but not sure what model.
Edit: Everything I can find says it's a Borg-Warner 78 series.

*Bog Warmer
My 'High performance LSD' tagged borg warner doesn't act quite so high performance anymore hehe They usually have a tag. A tag with a ratio and no sign of lsd or spin resistant diff would denote a single spinner in my opinion. Second hand cars can always have odd ball parts, wether they came like that or someone penny pinched on replacement who knows Only way to tell is pop the back cover off, investigate, get you're hands dirty.
