Get a new mechanic.

Prolly wants to tax the XR ECU.

The EF Computer will NOT fit the XH.

The XH runs an EL 'Type' ECU. with a Distributor and Coil.

EF Runs Coilpack and syncroniser.

It won't even 'plug in'

xg and xh run the 60 pin ecu like ea/eb/ed and el/nl fairlane, where ef/nf fairlane has 104 pin ecu..
so a ecu from ef or nf fairlane wont even plug in...
being a xh xr6 it will have a el bbm and any el or el xr6 ecu will work..

Its important you select an EL ecu, as it controls your cooling fans also.
