Hi guys,

I recently changed the thermostat in my EL Fairmont Ghia under advice as the heater system wasn't working. So I replaced the thermostat (which definitely needed replacing) with a brand new one, and now the heater works fine. Unfortunately, the car is now overheating, and I am thinking something went wrong when I did this? Is there a special way that the thermostat is supposed to be installed or does something need to be reset??

did you take the little hose off the housing when you refilled it , to let the air out . or it could be your radiator blocked with crap

Did you drill a small hole in the t'stat before fitting?????...( see pic ).....helps bleed air from the system and reduces heat shock at the radiator.......should be fitted this way up.
