Hi guys,
I recently changed the thermostat in my EL Fairmont Ghia under advice as the heater system wasn't working. So I replaced the thermostat (which definitely needed replacing) with a brand new one, and now the heater works fine. Unfortunately, the car is now overheating, and I am thinking something went wrong when I did this? Is there a special way that the thermostat is supposed to be installed or does something need to be reset?? JD

did you take the little hose off the housing when you refilled it , to let the air out . or it could be your radiator blocked with crap

Did you drill a small hole in the t'stat before fitting?????...( see pic ).....helps bleed air from the system and reduces heat shock at the radiator.......should be fitted this way up.
