Hello everyone. It's certainly been a while.

I've got a 12/87 Telstar TX5 Ghia, and it has a really really annoying occasional misfire and hunting idle. I've changed so far:

Spark plugs
Leads
Distributor cap
Rotor button
Fuel filter
Air filter
Air flow meter

I've also cleaned out the throttle body and it's currently got a strong dose of injector cleaner.
But it's still there.
It doesn't seem to have full power either.

I have a spare tx5 parts car and I'm gonna try changing the ecu next. But I can't find the damn thing!!
Does anyone know where they are?

Should also mention the engine is an F2.

I remembered something else.

It has a bit of trouble starting, cold and hot, and it doesn't have the normal
High cold idle.

ECU IIRC is at the bottom of the dash in the middle. I believe you have to remove the facia's around the stereo & maybe even the console to get to it.

I'm repairing a rad support on a AT Tx5 turbo atm :-)

Cheers

Seems like I've narrowed down the s**t idle to the throttle position sensor, so I opened the bonnet and had one look at it and decided it might be easier to swap the whole throttle body over

I've ordered a new genuine throttle body gasket, so when that comes I'll get stuck into it.
