Hey guys.
I have a ford ED What would be causing a low idle 500 instead of 750? I have adjusted the idle to go up to 750 but the car sometimes stalls when this is the case. i.e when i put it in reverse the car will sometimes stall as rpm go to 0 recently i put a new radiator in it. there doesnt seem to be any vacuum leaks the airbox/filter doesnt seem to be blocked i took it for a hour drive before. stop and started a number of times to see how it went. – it didnt stall – when i approached roundabouts it did drop under 550, thought it would stall but didnt -highway was fine RPM's were around 2000 when on cruise. – tried with the heater on and off, and was fine. In saying that tho, could this be the problem: As it is duel fuel but needs a new fuel pump (not working atm, wont run on petrol at all) I got told that it could be the ISC but also was told that it wouldnt just happen overnight pretty much it would be something i would notice. Lastly spoke to a mechanic who looked at my car recently. He said this: - Airbox has no clips, need to replace all of them. - From the airbox to the motor, looks like it has had selastic put around it (due to wrong fitting), and for the time being reapplying that should stop the problem do u reckon so ? ideas? |
