Hey,

recently purchased a 1996 ef fairmont, just wondering if I can fit the 5 litre V8 that model originally came out with, and the mods and how hard to do. Or is it possible to fit any other ford V8 to the efs?

cheers.

Easy conversion if you have an EF 5.0, and engine bay harness to go with it.

Your issues possibly come down to the fuel lines. Otherwise everything out of 8 into 6 works.

Dont try using EB/D/EL harnesses - they dont plug in.

Of course, if your into Auto Leccy' stuff then things are different.

I have an NC (EB) 5.0 in my XF with the 4 speed auto, and Im about to put an EL 185 engine into my EL, with an EF Harness and EF 4 Speeder.

You'll also need to change the pedal box if its an auto so you have the trans. ECU Mounts, and while you have the dash out you can run the trans ECU Wiring harness as well

Oh Yeah - P.S If anyone has an EL 5.0 and they want to convert and EF, I would be willing to swap my EF 5.0 ECU Engine harness for the EL 5.0 engine harness ;)..... must be auto of course.
