Yo!
Does anyone know for sureies the factory tint % for '06 mkII fmg? I've seen 35% a few times, but mine seriously can't be that dark.. Also wondering if anyone has seen\got either of the tints mentioned in the the title? Have spoken to both parties, and I think it's going to come down to whoever can book me in first, but there's issues. Octane from tint a car is stated to be darkest legal tint, at 35%.(which is why I'm confused) it has slightly higher heat rejection, at 70% to Premium Elite's 65% or some s**t. Both have same maximum uv protection, and roughly same glare reduction. I'm tippin Elite is probably 35% also, so if that's the case, and factory is same, then wtf is the point?lol. Any ideas? Thanks guys. |

hey mate, just got the misses 2011 fiesta fitted with octane tint. It looks pretty dark, it also helps if the interior is dark and certain angles make it look darker as well

Thanks for the reply bro.
Yeah I have a complete black leather interior lol I'm gonna trim the pillar plastics and redo the parcel shelf, but yeah you can see why I want tint lol. Another thing was the metal\carbon film, because my aerial is on the rear window, apparently the metal based film will interfere. The Elite is complete carbon based, where as tint a car said for the Octane they can make the rear tint carbon based instead of metal. I wonder if the type of film makes a difference? BUt yeah. Thanks man lol. |

hmm well im pretty sure the misses car aerial is in the rear glass but she hasnt said anything about it, perhaps the film they put on wasnt metalised but never even really brought it up

When I had my bf done I was warned that metallic film might interfere with reception. It did, the only difference being instead of picking up stations from 150km away (triple m from south coast) I can now only get local stations. If you're worried about it get the carbon tint.
Darkness and heat rejection are different matters, my tint apparently has 90+% heat rejection, and it works well, sometimes you can see through it, most times you can't but it does it's job. I would hate anything less. That said night driving in rural areas is completely different.

done buy a little guy with a well known franchise. don't really wish to mention numbers or names or photos The heat rejection was all I was paying attention to anyway. With 6 stack cd and mp3 input the radios a bit of a moot point anyway.
