Swapped out the old fronts over the weekend & WOW! were they f**k! The howl was so bad you'd swear the car was going to fall in half.
Its all much better now however I'm wondering about the torque on the nuts, the big book of falcons I was reading stated 105Nm however I've heard some people say they have to jump on the breaker bar to do them up as their wrench didn't read high enough. What do you guys recommend?

What do you guys recommend? Front wheel bearings on the EL? It's meant to be 30Nm while rotating the disc (to seat the bearings properly), undo nut 1/2 turn and then tighten to 4Nm (or 8Nm? or something...pretty much finger tight). 105Nm seems rather high! I hope you haven't broken the new set of bearings!

Like what he said ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^.....if we're talking an EL....seat first, then finger tight.
If it's an AU or later, yeah, they are tight.

I've had pedders tell me they installed them on e series & chewed out 3 sets on a car before they read the specs & did them up correct.
I'll leave it go & see where it ends up.

with burned out bearings.
nip it up, seat it, nut and split pin it. however many nm you get from two fingers on a shifter, thats how much you need haha |

I tighten it up pretty tight to pull it all together then back it off a 1/4 of a turn . Then I grab the rotor and if it feels firm and spins free, thats it done .
