Hey guys long time no post, thaught I would show my little project I have over the next 3 weeks .
Picked up a 2002 AU III Falcon today, not for my but for my sister in law, Its unregised, and I have around 3 weeks to get it roadworthy, registerd and fully serviced ready to go down to Toowommba where she lives. Paid $3000 Has 220,000Kms Everything works well and drives great. Couple of quick questions , Im going to remove the front seats toomorow to clean and deatail inside, Do I need to disconect the battery as the seat belts have Pre-Tensioners on the front seat. Will it potentially throw up an air bag Fault? Can any one tell me the oil capacity for the Rear diff and Engine oil? dosent have the owners manual. Engine oil capacity is 5.5lts including filter, Diff oil Capacity is 1.7lts and grade is SAE 90 hyoid for single spinner and SAE 90 EP for LSD.
Front seat belts will be fine. They aren't connected to the airbag system. |

thanks guys, Went over it yesturday couple of issues that might come up on the roadworthy are;
Faded front headlight ( easily fixed with a restoration kit) Small chip drivers side of the windscreen ( also easialy fixed with a DIY Kit from supercheap) I managed to fix the power window that wasnt working yesturday just a faulty switch. And the LED brake light strip is missing from the rear spoiler, might be able to get away with the original rear window mount stop light, or simpally remove the spoiler for the roadworthy.

Seats came out today full detail inside
Grill removed and repainted Started to cut and polish The stereo is some kind of Pioneer head unit with front sepakers replaced with a set of clarions, you wouldnt believe it but sounds much better than our Premo sound in the BF XR8 You do not have the required permissions to view the files attached to this post.

Looks like a nice car. Isnt it amasing the amount of crap that you find under seats in a car . Under the back seat in my wagon, it was like a treasure trove of Toys, Hair Clips, combs and enough food to last the next nuclear war . (Bloody kids!)
Anyway its a pity you're not keeping it for yourself , it'd be a nice ride.

yer it was prety messy under the seats, with my cars i get into the habbit of giving the interior a good clean after every trip away so in a few years time they still look like a new car inside.
If I was after a cheap reliable car this thing would have been perfect but cant justify another car, The BF XR8 we have hardley gets driven as it is.

Go the results back from the roadworthy,
faded front headlight, 2 rear tyres scrubbed out on the inside, oil leaking around the front main seal LH power steering boot torn, weeping oil. Her is the Plan, Headlight restoration kit Replace harmonic balance, seal maybe harmonic ballance if shaft is pitted Find 2 cheap tyres for the roadworth Inspect steering rack for loostness may be able to get away with changing the boots rather then the whole rack. Have to remember Its not my car and I have a prety tight budget to stick with.
