Hey guys,

My ute has only done about 100,000 kms but the other day the clutch pedal felt a bit weird… So I popped the bonnet and had a look at the fluid level. On first inspection it looked like it was up to the full level; took the lid off the reservoir and it was a little low, but it was a bit of a dirty color. I stuck my finger in it and to my horror it was like sticking your finger into mud! It was thick and gritty!! :(

So I’ve been told that I have to replace the master and slave cylinders and the slave is a gearbox out job… so I figure that I may as well do the clutch while it’s in bits?!?!

So I have a few questions…

Anyone suffered this problem?

So should I replace the clutch or not? Remember it’s only done 100k

If so, what sort of clutch should I use? HD or standard…

Can anyone recommend a good brand?

If I use a HD clutch does that mean a new fly wheel?

Do I ask too many questions? :)

Cheers Paul.

Oh and if the fluids is as badly contaminated as it seems should I replace the reservoir and lines or will some sort of flush do?? I don’t like doing things half a***.

if your happy with the cluches performance just replace it with a std one..
you wont know how warn it is untill you pull it out.
your fluid should be flushed every 2 years regardles of km, as for the lines just a flush through will be fine..

Yeah thanks TROYMAN, think i'll just go with the standard clutch. No real engine mods so guess there isn't really any point going a HD clutch.
