Hi Guys
My el diff is buggered and i have a perfevt ef diff lying around. I believe some of the locating points are slightly different from ef to el. So is iyt possible to get the ef diff to fit. Cheers Steve |

Items that are different:
Upper control arms. Watts link position. Hand brake cable.

So is it just a matter of swapping these bits over?

Yes, and no.
Is the EF diff a stocker or an XR diff? If your car is not an XR or Ghia, you will need to source EF upper control arms as they will be longer. The watts link will still fit on the EF diff, but the mounting point is a little higher compared to the EL. You can swap the diff hat over if you are keen. The hand brake cables are different on the EF and EL diffs, and will need to stay with the diff they came on. Both should connect fine to the front hand brake cable. The join is under the rear drivers passenger seat. Cheers BenJ

Cheers Ben is there any thing you don't know i reckon you should be the formods living legend.
Anyway the car with the buggered diff is a nl fairlane 6 cyl i am hoping to fit a diff from a nf fairlane but a v8. I realise i will have to change the pivot point so i have to change trailing arms as well. Thanks Steve |
