So last night my power window switch died for the drivers window. It still goes down just not up... The window is half down so I can't lock the car safely and it's a general pain! I have looked around all the wreckers I know in Hobart but they are all closed or not there anymore. If there is a tassie member with a spare, or even if I could borrow a working on just to get the window back up so I can lock the car and now water damage the interior if it rains I would be extremely grateful! Even if someone can put me in touch with a tassie member that wound be a start, or recommend a wreckers down here.
I have pulled the switch out and given it a clean, I think it's just had it, but if you can give me any recommendations on how to fix the hint they are welcome. Thanks |

You could always inject 12volts into the red wire to get the window up.
Follow this: documents.php?d=6 to work out the wiring. As for your current switch, Its pretty easy to disassemble and roughen up the contacts / clean them and then reassemble. Might save you $40 bux on another second hand unit.

I can't run 12v through it as I don't have the know how or gear unfortunately. I have just given it a really good clean with contact cleaner and disassembly but still no go.

re solder the connections on the back of the circuit board as some do suffer from dry joints resulting in broken contact

i managed to find a legend at a bodywork place who happened to be there on a saturday to do the 12v to the "wind up" wire so its up and secure. The switch is totally cactus though so i will replace it on monday hoepfully.
