just wonder if my xf needs engine mount spacer cos I replaced the broken mounts and there were what looked like home made spacer plates (about 7mm thick) but when I tried to put it back together with new engine mounts there was no way they would fit with the spacer plates then I looked at a few others (xf ex) and they had no spacers looked in gregories manual and no plates either got mounts in now and they fit nice and tight but I'm not game to start the car before I get a few answers .......why were they in there????................. any ideas????

mine didn't have any spacer plates but when i broke a mount it used to rattle against the front cross member, i would think the spacers were put in as a temporary solution for broken mount but no they don't have them originally.

thanks heaps rusty - the old girl is running beautifully now - def just a temporary solution - people are mad the damb things only cost $20 each it would have been more than $40 labour to make the plates
