Hey guys, just got back from a 10 day holiday and tried to start my car and it wouldnt go. Stereo and accessores turn on but the car wont even try to crank over. The fuel pump primes and im assuming this is a battery issue, would i be right? And jump leads the easiest fix?
Thanks guys |

Have you checked the starter motor connections? Also your relays.

So you dont think its the battery? |

When you turn the key can you hear a click coming from the starter motor?...if you can then it sounds like the relays and connections are ok but the battery is shot. How good was the battery before you went?

Have you tried the 'Thump the BEM' trick?
Holding the key over to 'start' give the lower dash just above your left knee a thump with the heel of your hand. If she kicks over you have a dry joint in the BEM.

if you turn the key and everything turns off (ie, whole dash dies) with maybe a click or 2 (or just silence), it may be the battery. Get a spare from somewhere and see how that goes, easiest fix I think.
I would think it'll be more the battery than anything else...it has been left for 10 days without starting, the battery may have drained itself. Mine drains in 3 days...but my battery is shot.
