Hi guys,
i have tried searching but have not found anything that really relates to what i am trying to do. I have a EF futura and my grandad has an nl fairlane long story short he was on the side of the road in his fairlane, left the door ajar and a semi came past and blew the door forward. anyway he is giving me the fairlane early next year and i was just considering installing the fairlane dash inc pass airbag, trip computer, bem (have to tap mine to start the car sometimes), climate control, instrument cluster and hopefully the rear electric windows, though have read EFs and NLs are different in this area, if i can it would be nice to replace the whole dash loom assembly etc. Any one had experience in this respect between EF and NL? any help, tips or suggestions are most welcome Thanks guys Nick |

hey dude i had the same q at one stage first off with the bem go to repco because there are 7 difrent types so get them to redo urs costs $270ish (just had mine done thats home i know) now for the dash u'd be better off getting xr dash out of a ef because u have to change mounts and wiring everything to but a lane dash in a falcon hope this helps if anything u get a comfy interior and some fany bits out of the lane

As far as i know cant be done. BCM has diff number of pins so body wiring loom would need to be changed. The prob is the ecu totally different again but changing this would is the hard bit because of diff ignition set up of ef vs el.

It will work but you will need to change every wiring harness from the front to the back of the car.

Yes it can be done, using the whole dash loom would not help much as the main body to dash loom goes through two connectors and one off those is very different both in pin count and pin allocation from EL to EF (DL to DF). Easier to mod your dash loom to accept the cluster. There is only one of the connectors that is different and two that don't exist in lower models. If you can grab the cluster connectors and the door latch and fuel flap switches you can easily install it using the cluster upgrade technical documentation on this site.
