Hey guys, Ive a 2001 AUII sohc ute in manual, running a mixer ring type duel fuel system.
With this car im not a rev head, its just a daily that I don't mind throwing a few hundred at for the right mod, chasing better fuel economy and perhaps a little more power if i do feel like throwing it sideways on a race track. The gas bottle and filler is on the passenger side underneath the tray, also the exhaust is directed out one side of the vehicle, not out the back like every other falcon. Everything is standard, new plugs, 8mm leads, new oil blah blah, just had the leaky heater core bypassed, filter is fresh etc. Im wondering what 'pre-programmed' j3 chip $120 would give me the best results or what similarly priced options there are that might be worth while. Perhaps an lpg cam from wade? Also does anyone know if the XR8 or GT, XR6T snorkel provides any better fuel economy, for $30 I thought I'd ask Thanks in advance Matt

not really much point on a cold air intake if youve got a gas ring, no matter how much cold air it gets the gas ring still chokes up the motor. xr8 gt and xr6t snorkels are all the same, and until you hit highway kms they really do stuff all for a motor on gas. if your going a cam on a budget, you would probably want something with low to mid range gains, gas mixer rings arent really the best thing if your chasing power. and dont forget to go to a lpg specialist for a mixer tune and service (prob about 130?).
best performance "gain" would be lpg injection setup. been thru it all with my au2 ute probably not worth going near the track in a stocky 6cyl either...
