One of the first things I want to do to get my AU1.5 4.0l Fairmont shaggin wagon back in form, is to work on the BEM. I am having all kinds of problems relating to it, and I want to remove it as a possible cause of problems before I move on.
What is the best way to go about it? I mean, is there a way to reboot/flash the bastard? Or should I try and find a used one from a wreckers and take it to a Ford shop? Or should I go for an remanufactured/refurbished one (Injectronics)? What say you Ford Mods? How best to remove the BEM as a culprit for my haunted wagon-o-love? |

remanufactured BCM is the way to go. its a known item at that point. you could one from a wrecker that is just as bad or worse.
I think Injectronics offer a 12 month warranty as well. Better than a wreckers 3 month. BUT then the $$ have to work for you as well. Might be worth a phone call to Ferntree Gully Wreckers for a price. If yours is an AU1.5, I think its an AUII onwards BCM you are looking for, but it will have a code on it. what build date is the car?
