XF with EL engine turbo on gas ecu dead

hey every one im new on here i have an XF ute with a turbo el motor on straight gas.
Water leaked into the ecu and killed it but i dont no wat ecu to replace it with.
its a 4 speed auto and there is no smart lock will an el ecu work or would i have to use something out of an eb with no smart lock

sorry i didnt see this thread earlier, sounds like your running a pre smart lock ecu, unless it is chipped than the smart lock could be turned off and it could be an ed or el ecu

If you need a replacement, there should be a 4 character catch code on the ECU. Do a site search for catch codes and you should be able to find where it came from.
