Hi All, just wondering if anyone can offer advice or tips on completely removing the moulded carpet from an EL. Mine got wet when i had to drive through some recent flood waters, the carpet itself has dried but the underlay is still very wet. Removing the rear bench seat and front seats is pretty easy, but I’m not sure how far up under the console the carpet goes.

Naa easy bro it take out the center and radio and the gauge plastics and u should be tight from there u will have to move wires feom the hand brake and lights if u have them installed

Thanks for the advice mate, is it very difficult to remove the plastics? I've had the radio one off before but never the centre or guage ones. Do they pry off, unclip or unscrew?

You don't need to remove the dash face .
To remove centre console there are 2 screws on either side underneath radio surround, 2 screws in the centre console it self , then 2 screws under the radio surround , lift up the mat in front of gear stick . Then lift the Back up first and pull out , it's a bit fiddly ,then there are 2 screws holding down the white thing for the air con .

Thanks Mate, you make it sound so easy!!! Im guessing i will need to take the handle off the top of the Auto Trans selector in order to lift the console up completley??

Yes u will . Get a 12" shifter and undo the nut underneath then screw off t-bar , make sure the rod goes in the same way u took it out

Thanks for all the advice guys, I had no trouble once I got started, just time consuming really. I took lots of photos along the way, so if anyone ever wants detailed pics of where screws are, how panels fit together and where wires run just let me know. For a 14 year old car she was amazingly clean underneath the carpet, she will just be half naked till it drys out properly lol.
