Has anyone ever attempted to fit two electric sunroofs into their sedan? Specifically EF/EL? Do you think they would physically even fit? I'm determined to find a way!

Let me know your thoughts!

Interesting concept having two sunroofs in a sedan....I thought one would be more than adequate.

If you wanted a factory style cartridge roof, no.

The only way I could imagine it working is to have 2 pop up only sunroofs, or if you wanted electric the couple/ute ones where the glass slides outside of the car.

And you've got to think about structural integrity aswell. The roofs with 1 sunroof alone get pretty fragile. IMO Not really worth it. Stick with 1, and dw about the cunce in the back. They'll just make your car scrape ;)

Does anyone know how much it would be all up to get a single sun roof and to get one fitted on my EF Fairmont ?

a proper job with the standard Hollandia sunroof that came optional on some cars...supplied and fitted...probably $2000+.

Yep, the professional installers charge big $$$, even if you supply the sunroof.

One member I know paid over $1200, and others have been quoted nearer $2000.

On the other hand I bought my own 2nd hand for $80, and including the trip from Sydney to Canberra to pick it up, installed with some help from good mates for under $150.

There are details in my build thread.

Oh, and no two factory style roof won't fit, not even in a wagon.

Cheers
BenJ

for a new one supplied/fitted, you are looking at about $2300.

I paid $1100 for a roof I supplied to be fitted to my car. That price was for the fitting, new seals/rubbers and new roof lining (as well as the cloth panel that slides to cover the sunroof), along with a warranty on their workmanship.
