hi guys woundering if any one has a had a problem with there b seriese not starting and the icc not produceing sound..
the car just ticks soon as you turn the key iv tried three different baterys out and they start the cars they come out of so im ruleing that out as a problem . also withthe icc works fine goes into evey formate can even see that the cd is playing in the cd mode by the song time still playing just not produceing a sound all i can figure out is that i have a line converter running an amp and sub spliced into the rear speakers could have this reversed pushed a current back through the icc if so what is stopping the car from starting ?? fuses and relays are fine aswell?? thanks rhys |

I might be wrong But sounds like it might be starter motor?
Its in an awkward spot. its on the right hand side of the engine bay under the intake manifold. Try and hit it with a long pole (lightly) while someone is trying to start it. If it starts than there is your answer Let me know how you go!

Probably a bcm issue, almost everything runs through the climate control

Well car started this morning!! dont know what is up with it. Then at the same time icc started smokeing so id say im up for one of them been a dual climate premium sound with a nav man setting gathering its not gonna be a cheap!! fix.
Im thinking about pulling that damn line converter out and ditching the whole sub amp thing thats been running in the car for almost a yr. i havent tried starting the car since teh icc burnt up but will i have a problem turning the car on or will it start up as the bcm is still connected ?? thanks rhys |

Bugger, I'm fairly certain with these if one of the main units fry you need a complete new unit and have to send the car or every computer to be matched up.
Don't quote me on this tho, will be expensive. Personally I'd get it towed to a dealership or simiar with the proper diagnostic equipment to be able to diagnose the issue without having to start the car... Hopefully But more then likely they would just start her up to see the smoke :/ |

well the car starts with no dramas all i done was unbolt the bcm off the icc and just connected the bcm with out the icc in strange though considering i thought the icc was the main computer of the cars heart but obviousely not !! iv looked on ebay and a few other sites can buy second hand premium unit for not a bad price but given that not 100% sure on the condition the unit would be in on arrival .
Hopefully theres not a drama with ford reprogrameing the icc with the rest of the computers! Last edited by frendy on Sun Mar 18, 2012 9:45 pm, edited 1 time in total. |
