Could find Transmax Z no problem, but had trouble finding the lubrizol. I found 'G70' Nulon Manual Gearbox Treatment....but it didn't say anything about having lubrizol in it. Noone had 'lubrizol' though and none of the places knew what it was....not by that name anyway. Went to Supercrap, Repco and Auto One...no Autobahn here.

Yeah I haven't been able to find lubrizol anywhere either...
Mine has a bit of a rattle when out of gear, but is quite enough with the clutch in and it shifts ok. I'm approaching 200k though and for all it's probably still the original oil. I've had it since 160k, but most servicing prior to that was done by ford. Anyone know at what interval ford usually changes the gearbox oil ??

and where can oyu get that and retail price

They sell it at coventry's. $35 per litre. The workshop manual states that you need 2.1 litres so I bought 3 bottles, used about 2 and a half.
If you buy a bit more you can also use it in your diff.

We had the redline guy give a talk to us while at uni.
To cut a 2 hour lecture short basically redine is based on palm oil which has a higher temp rating before it brakes down. Also it has much less friction for the same protection. So there is less friction between the gears and it helps the syncros out while mainitning or bettering gearbox wear. Some other oils can get the same effect on shift quality but the wear will increase. Their LSD diff oil is supposed to be fantastic - ie really thick but low friction and maximum portection. Paricuarly from 'shock loads'.
Also saw 5RWKW increase on sti WRX due to lower friction - that was engine, geabox and diffs.

I did back to back runs on in my EL, and saw a 2rwkw increase only from using AMSOIL synthetics in the engine diff and gearbox. oils aint oils.

I think i'll stick to Transmax Z with Lubrizol, heard too many dodgy/not so good stories from friends who own various cars and have used Redline oils.
