i have almost finished my ef xr6 into eb conversion
but im having a few small dramas.. all assistance appreciated.. 1 - timing marks - after swapping the ef coil packs to eb dissy and coil i have no timing marks.. (this would be a common problem and probally a simple solution) 2 - 02 sensor - the genie extractors i got with the engine have had the last collector cut off resulting in a 6 into 2 with a flange at the end ie. no spot for a o2 sensor. has any one seen anything like this before... i can supply a picture tomorrow if needed 3 - power steering - when removing the old engine i must have crushed the long steel "return pipe?" what is involved in replacing it 4 - fuel hoses - on my eb body which is the supply line and which is the return line...? left and right? Thankyou once again .. my car has been off the road way to long now.. |

(this would be a common problem and probally a simple solution) If you are running the serpentine belt setup, run an EL Balancer and timing case, If you are running a V Belt setup, run an EA-ED Balancer and timing case, although, you can get the timing pretty good without it, I wouldnt go to the effort. 2 - 02 sensor - the genie extractors i got with the engine have had the last collector cut off resulting in a 6 into 2 with a flange at the end ie. no spot for a o2 sensor. has any one seen anything like this before... i can supply a picture tomorrow if needed You'll need to get it drilled, and then a nut welded in so it will accept one. 3 - power steering - when removing the old engine i must have crushed the long steel "return pipe?" what is involved in replacing it Unbolt it, and bolt in a new one, not too much drama, bit arkward but not that bad. 4 - fuel hoses - on my eb body which is the supply line and which is the return line...? left and right? You'll need to trace them back, whichever one has the fuel filter in it is the supply line. Also the supply line should be smaller than the return line, so they should only fit one way Thankyou once again .. my car has been off the road way to long now.. No worries, you'll get there, good luck. |

in regards to fuel...the inlet line is the one with the fuel filter, the outlet has nothing.
