Recently purchased a AU XR8 series 1 5 speed manual, when i pick it up changed the plugs and leads due to it having a miss.
Now since then i have had nothing but isses. Most of the time when driving i get a hesitation down low until i put my foot down then hesitates for a sec and takes off. Sometimes its perfect and dont have a issue but most of the time its rought to drive, now the worst part is if in sitting in traffic or at light for a fair amount of time and go to take off, this hesitation turns into a miss and a decent miss at that but once again if i put my foot down it disappears. Now the strange part is it will keep missing down low until i turn off the car, restart it and its fine for a while. So far ive changed... MAF Coils Leads and plugs Fuel pump and filter And cleaned out throttle and other various sensors I plugged it into the code reader thing and no fault codes, also took off cam sensor with no change to the motor. It does have a slight weep on the top manifold gasket and a slightly melted O2 sensor plug but both been checked and nothing i dont think that could cause this issue. Any ideas??? or anyone who knows a 5ltr guru?? Wouldnt mind trying another ECU but im having a little trouble finding one. |

I'd be leaning towards the fuel pressure regulator or the injectors, potentially a wiring problem too. I had similar issues and it turned out to be the dissy, but since yours has coil packs I'll say injectors or fuel pressure reg.

Fuel pressure reg was actually the next thing on my list, do you know if the EB V8 reg was the same, i still have a new one from my old EB.

Were these parts you changed new ones or other 2nd hand ones?
Clear KAM and run it again, if still dodgy try changing your HEGO's. Some new injectors may be in order too? |

KAM is the keep alive memory. Its where the codes are stored.
Clear it by removing the battery for over half an hour. Brett

Clearing KAM also wipes the adaptive memory cells which, if you've got some slightly dodgy sensor or problem that the EEC has tried to adapt around.
So it can help you narrow down the problem. |

Bit of an Update, good and bad news.
Replaced Intake upper gasket, pressure reg and 02 sensors and the miss has gone but still has a slight hesitation which is rarely there, mostly when i first start it but i can live with that. Might just get it tuned and see if i can tune out the hesitation?? Kill 2 bires with one stone. |

Good Stuff!
I was going to say definetely oxygen sensors. My AU had identical issue and spent abit of money chasing it since it wasn't throwing codes for the oxygen sensors, but still turned out to be them.
