Hey guys, I've got an EL Fairmont Ghia and it seems a lot of my dash lights have blown and same with my climate control screen.

I'd like to replace them with normal globes, can anyone direct me to what I should buy to replace them and is it a hard job?

Thanks much.

Hi mate for an EF/EL cluster you need T5 Globes or LED lights. you can change the color if you wish to something else (blue, red, green) but keep in mind that if you don't have white needles and use blue light you won't be able to see them.

Most of the globe holders in your cluster will be soldered in, the 5 white ones in the back the globe will just pull out so I would sugest getting more globe holders of the same type. Best place to get those would be a wreckers the EF clusters don't have any soldered globes so you can take some holders from a wrecked one.

Go to a wrecker and grab all the white globe holders you can see out of an EF cluster.
This will give you the option to change the stock lights to LEDs down the track if you want. :)

Also, if you want to take the orange off the needles, nail polish remover works great.

Thanks much guys, not really looking to change the colour, I'd like to keep it factory.

What about something like this:

http://www.invisionsales.com/lighting/p ... ent-globes

Look under BAX, they have globes in holders already, would something like that be fine to replace them with?

If you aren't looking to change the color, just go into autobarn they'll have the globe holders with standard globes already soldered in.

As for how to change your cluster globes, THIS should help where it comes to getting the cluster out. You won't need to disassemble it, just use long nose pliers to change the globes. There are 6 globes for the backlighting, 4 around the top 1/2 of the cluster on their own and the other 2 are above the line of warning lights. Basically all the ones that have an indentation in the back of the cluster. I can't be much help with the C/C ones though as I don't have it on mine.

Thanks much guys, I'll go to autobarn soon.

I'll eventually figure out the C/C one, can't wait to get all my dash lights working.
