Hey guys, just wondering how do I remove the old accelerator pedal rubber? I have a new genuine one I'd like to replace it with, I seen on the side there is this little circle thing, but I can't figure out how to get it off?
Also, how does one go replacing the accelerator cable? I also have a new one here and I'd like to change it. Thanks much. |

Are you referring to the rubber o'ring on the small bracket on the rocker cover?
If so the circlip actually holds the cable in place and once removed means the cable can be slid out of the o'ring. Then using a suitable lever (flat blade screwdriver worked for me) remove it from the bracket. Push in new rubber, slip the cable back in and you are done. To swap out the complete cable, you need to unbolt the throttle pedal from the floor inside the car, and then remove plastic support etc and pull the cable out completely. The sound deadening can be a pain when trying to insert the new cable, but is doable with some perseverance. Cheers BenJ

Cheers BenJ I mean the cover that goes over the metal accelerator pedal, I noticed there is a little circle thing on both sides of the pedal rubber. I plan on replacing the entire cable, I've got a new one here. How can you tell if they are stretched? |
