I was told today that apparently hotdog mufflers are illegal here in Victoria. Anyone know if it is infact true? My mate was considering getting one for his EL but was told they don't fit them now due to the noise output. Couldn't be any louder than some of the Jap cars I see getting around town.

As long as the noise level is an acceptable level, and all exhaust gases pass through it, you are allowed to run any muffler you like.

Apparently the place my mate took his EL to said they are illegal. I'm thinking he might need to go to another place. I see all these Jap cars getting around with those cannon's and they are loud as buggery and if they are legal then the hotdogs must be too.

Sounds like the muffler shop was sold out of hotdogs and wanted to sell whatever they had on their shelves.
