Hi guys, I broke a sensor on my EF, it's on the left engine block under the inlet manifold. It is a bolt with two wires attached. I assume it's for engine temp? What wil happen if I drive without it? I have attached a pic. thanks for your help

Looks like the oil pressure sensor to me. Unless its connected to the ecu, the only problem it would cause is not knowing if you have low oil pressure.

Low oil pressure sensor, don't start your motor without a new one. Not sure about two wires though, are you sure about that?

Yeah, pretty close. You can take it out and drive without it - just get another and fit when you can. Be easiest to fit one while the manifold is off.

Thanks for all the replies. Yeah it's just a plain bolt going into the block with a ceramic looking head which has two wires coiming out of it. The top took a very light hit to break off, seems very brittle. It would be a pain to remove the manifold to re-fit another!
