hi guys. i'm in the process of resurrecting a V8 eb fairmont wagon. it has had a hit in the front and will need a radiator support, lh guard and bonnet. i have an ef sedan here which has a good straight front end. do i just need to swap the top part of the radiator support where the latch goes ? or the whole front panel ?

it has been done before, you need to change the whole radiator support panel...

only the rad support, and a small section of the inner gaurds needs to be swapped.
maybe a couple if inches if that. My EA Wagon has an EL Front. the inner guards were just cut and the rad support welded in. heres one on AFF http://fordforums.com.au/showthread.php?t=11197905

I think this mod looks great on Wagons (makes them look like an EF/EL Wagon, totally updates the look) and I think it COULD look OK on a Fairlane/LTD (havent seen it done though) But not so sure I like it on the sedans.
As a side note, When I was wrecking an NC Fairlane Ghia, I decided to see what it would take to mount up an EL Gaurd to it, I had to grind off the bracket for the charcoal cannister but other than that it fitted perfectly, maybe something to keep in mind? I'm sure an EF/EL Charcoal cannister bracket could be used but they are different to EB-ED and NC Fairlane. I'd be keen to see pics of the conversion process, as it's something I'd consider doing in future, particularlly to a Wagon, but I'm keen to see a sedan done well too. Gab EDIT: Just noticed you have a Wagon.....will look MINT, keen to see it. |

it's been done a couple of time's to sedans. it's quit easy you don't need the ineer section of the engine bay you just need to do a bit of tapping t get the iner panels to meet the radiator support.
