Hey guys,

Went car shopping the other day coz i was bored. And wanted to go look at stuff.
Went to a car dealer, and saw a really nice F6, so i had the sames person come talk to me about it, and he asked if i was going to trade anything for it.
So i said yea, i'd be trading my XR6. He took a look over it (the car was freshly cleaned the day before). He seemed happy with it.
He then offered me 18k for it.
To me i was shocked. As i was looking for 25k.
what do you think my car is worth?

Yes the bonnet has a scratch on it where it was keyed. (im getting that fixed)
Which i think may have bought his price down.

Its got 58,000kms
20" Wheels with 6 month old tyres
My exhaust system which cost $2300.

Am i being unreasonable by thinking its worth 25k?

You can't expect a dealer to pay you private sale price for the car, He's there to make money not to make friends.

Regardless of what you paid for the wheels ect, stuff like that can make a car hard to sell. In the eyes of the dealer the mods add ZERO value to the car and narrow the target market to much.

id say 25k+ is about what he would advertise it for, so its def worth that and little bit more id say. sell it privately if u want to go a F6

Nope, he is pretty close to the money when looking at redbook. Mods don't count for anything when trading a car. They will not increase the value of it, it may improve the desirability of it for resale, but that is his gain not yours.

Sorry but a trade value in yours is 18k tops, and this is what they go on.

Private sell it and hope for 25k, reality is probably 20-22k
