Hi guys, can someone tell me if there is a difference between an XG and a XH centre console. I have one off a XG, (XR6 auto) and when I lined it up in my XH, 1996 model, it seems to be a lot wider than the transmission hump. Cheers, Steve.
I got back onto the guy who I got the console off and he said that it definitely came out of an XG ute. I was thinking that maybe the floor pan is different. Does anyone have any knowledge of this? I had a look at a panel van the other day and the floor pan around the tunnel where the rear seat bolt goes, does have a raised section but mine does not. Like a lot of XH's apparently some are different. Is this correct or not? Cheers. |

I have a XH 1996 Column shift Auto built in March from memory, it has a narrowish transmission tunnel and doesn't have the raised floor for the inner rear seat bolt mount. The XH XR versions do have the raised rear seat mount, don't know wether any other versions do or don't.

Yeah there are differences in the floorpan between column shift and floor shift models - the panel that's spotwelded on the tunnel. If you have a look at racedirector's ED wagon build, and xf84's build thread, there are some good floorpan pics to give you an idea.
AFAIK XG/XH consoles should be same - very similar to EB/ED also.

Cheers. I forgot about this question as it was 12 months ago. The console is in and I recently sold the Ute so thanks again.
