Hey everyone, I have read til my eyes bled, however I couldn't find the answer so here I am. I own a manual BA XR6, I've installed the turbo upper snorkel and the typhoon lower snorkel along with a K & N hi-flow air filter, did my spark plugs and coils the other day and have had a 2.5" cat back put on. I recently bought myself some pacey headers and a 100cpsi cat. After much consideration, I've decided to do the work myself as no cutting/welding is needed, I like to do what I can myself, not to mention the extra cost involved in someone else doing it. The question is...do I use a silicon sealant on all the flanges/gaskets? May be obvious to some, but theres no point in me guessing. Do it right, do it once...
Any tips or anything else I should know before I tackle it would be great. Cheers, Rhys. |

If in doubt, use some gasket maker (Permatex Red can be used or exhaust sealant) on either side of the gaskets when bolting everything up.

Thanks for the reply, I've got all the gaskets, I'll grab some permatex tomorrow, not too pricey is it?

Not sure if they make any difference, I've used both and found no issue. Just depends how much you want to spend...don't think either is more than $20.
