To anyone who can offer some insight......
Currently having issues with Brake system in my ED, main issue is the ABS light coming on, generally on the highway, only had a couple instances where its happened in a 60zone, the break peddal jams for around 3 seconds, then releases and i pretty much have what appears to be normal non-abs breaks. At the moment the car feels safer to drive with the ABS light lit up, thing is it resets when the car is switched off. The callipers have already been changed, the entire systems also been flushed and had new fluid put through ( by a mechanic, not a home job). Any suggestions welcomed, few ideas have been bought up by a mate, such as, wheel sensors?? Cheers, Chris. |

Hey Chris,
Try doing an ABS self test to start with. This may pick something up. |

has this just started after the work you had done? if so i would look closely at at any wheel that has had brake work done, this happened to my car and it turned out i had slightly bent the tone wheel, not enough that you could see it, but i measured the runout with a dial indicator and it was quite obvious, it also may be worth just getting a can of brake cleaner and squirting all four tone wheels to clean all the grrease etc off them.
fwiw i managed to remove the damaged tone wheel and straighten it with a block of and a hammer, no abs issues now. otherwise as the other person suggested, do an abs self test, that should at least tell you which wheel is the problem |
