I was just wondering how I go about gaining access to the top nuts of the rear shocks in my EL Fairmont wagon? I will be replacing the rear shocks sometime on the weekend but thats the only thing I'm unsure about.

Didn't you download the shop manuals posted here ???
Top nuts take a bit of effort to get to. Hint: Drop the back seat forward, and lift the carpet and attachers at the seat base at the rear. You'll then see what you need to do.

Found them....Snap is spot on. Dropped the back seats forward, along with the grey carpet, Four 10mm bolts on a hinged black steel plate then some silver stuff which is moved.

Pic isn't really wrong, just doesn't have the top mounting in detail.
Key issue is keeping the shock plunger from moving while undoing/doing up the nut. You'll find you don't have a lot of room to play with.

Going by the look of it and the lack of room I'm thinking I may have to make a few tools with various bends in them in order to get the job done efficiently.
I can't do it just yet anyway due to waiting for the new air lines to arrive for the air shocks. Apart from that and having to make some tools I have it all sussed out and ready to go.
