hi guys, relatively new to the forum and fords. i have a 96 gli factory manual with the usual mods, i just changed ecus to a xr6 manual ecu and have now got severe rev hang, i did a quick search but cant find any fixes for it. im gunna change the isc tomorrow to see if that helps but is there anything else i should be looking for?
thanks

If you unplug the ics does it idle? If so you need to turn that little screw down on the throttle body until it only just idles at operating temperature, then plug the ics back in

I had mine unplugged a while ago and it was fine cold starting and running aswell, it does rev hang a little on my car but not enough to bother me

yeah i did all that, im running with the isc unplugged at the moment and idle bumped up but had it so the engine stalled when it was unplugged before that and still did it. and when i turned the a/c on the revs would slowly increase to 3000rpm. i should also mention i changed ecus because i kept getting 411 and 412 in diagonostics with the old one.

Did you disconnect the battery when you changed the ecu, worth a try as thats whats recommended when fitting a new J3 chip.

Cheers Joel

yep, disconnected the battery, still havent changed isc yet, havent had the time. its running great with it disconnected and idle bumped up so not too worried. i just the kind of person that hates not knowing what is causing something. im a diesel mech by trade and hate fixing the symptoms and not the cause.

ok so i have cleaned the one way pcv valve on the rocker cover reset the ecu again and changed the isc. first one i put on made no difference if it was plugged in or unplugged, so that one is rooted, the second one i put on helped abit but revs were still slow to drop, not as much as before and it would be driveable but there is no filter on it and the brass insert is broken off in there. so i'll get another one and see if it works. so hopefully i have found the cause! also, what is the correct procedure to set base idle on an ef?

Probably best to do a search. With my one finger typing, it will take a week to type it out
