Have forgotten how to turn on the EF - Instrument Diagnostics
atm the doco on this isnt up yet in the modifications document

Turn key to Acc, hold odo reset button in for a good 10 seconds a few mor to be sure, keep holding it in as u turn the key to On (dont start engine) and then press odo reset button 3 times, on the 3rd press hold it in for a few more seconds then when u release it will go into diagnostic mode.

Hope i havn't screwed that up i did it this mornin. :?

no you have to hold the odo button for a fair while and then when u release it will go to normal, either that or just wait half an hour or so then it changes bak itself.

They just give us more info on the car. engine temp, battery charge, digital speedo etc etc

i like the speedo mode but it has a habbit of resetting, had to use it alot when i was changing my headlight bulbs around took old ones out then took ages to do new ones, infact never got round to finish em before i put a new cluster in

Actually after you have held the Odo button in for 10 seconds. Then you press the Odo button 3 times quickly and on the third press hold the Odo button in until the" Seat belt" sign on the dash goes off. Then a short time later the odo screen will go blank then the "Ford " sign will flash then after that you just keep pressing the Odo butten until you see a reading that fancies you.

i think i figured something out here.

the longer it flashes ford ford ford on the diagnostic start up the longer it should stazy on digital speedo/RPM mode.

also what type of car you got rapier and is your digital speedo give you a different reading to your analouge speedo?


how much mucking around is involved with the diagnostics when putting a new cluster in?
