I stumbled on this Doco: {DESCRIPTION}
I was wondering if the process is the same for doing on an E-series and if anyone was willing to make a doco for fitting the explorer intake to an E-series?

Mate I just did mine a few weeks ago and its pretty much the same as that write up. Only things to be aware of are :
1 you will need a vacuum t piece, the stuff they sell at super cheap for 5 bucks is the same that bunnings sells in their irrigation section for 1 dollar. 2.Depending on what your explorer manifold came off of it may not have egr. unless you have a chip installed you will still need to have the egr connected (electronically) or you will have issues. There are other ways of getting rid of the egr which are covered in the forums...My after market spacer had the mount for it so as the cops know it should be there for that model...i figure its best to leave the illusion there even if it doesnt actually pass the exhaust gas back in 3. intake air temp sensor. once again depending on what model explorer you get it may or may not have a hole in the lower for the sensor. You have the option of a)getting it tapped into the number 5 runner (make sure you do it off to the side otherwise it will foul on the injectors), b)extending the wire to run it in your intake tube (not recommended as this screws with self learning but some still do this), c) putting in a chip to compensate the temp difference. If you go after market egr spacer it wont have the accelerator cable mounts on it....you can also get yours milled out to match the intake. Also your existing egr spacer is water cooled to reduce the temp of the gas emissions...personally with mine not having the egr in the manifold i blocked the coolant lines off at the manifold...the way I looked at it was water and fuel dont mix so one less thing to worry about It took me about 6 hours all up which included prepping and painting the rocker covers and I gave the injectors a good soak over night as well as painted the heater lines that bolt on the front left of your manifold But for a couple of hours work I would thoroughly recommend the upgrade...way more responsive, more economical not to mention the added get up and go. i think I covered all the bits I ran into
